Growth In The Aviation Industry In Gujarat

In Gujarat, airport operations are currently managed by Adani Group, AAI (Airports Authority of India), and GUJSAIL. Several new airfields and airports are planned or coming up across the state, including Ankleshwar, Ambaji, Kevadia, Morbi, Palitana, Rajpipla, Botad, Dahej, Dahod, Deesa, Dholavira, Dholera, Dhordo, Dwarka, Rajula, Siddhpur, and Vadnagar.

The main purpose of starting operations at these airports and airfields is to improve connectivity between cities and provide affordable air travel to the public. This initiative will not only make travel easier but will also significantly increase employment opportunities in the aviation sector.

Silver Oak College of Aviation Technology (SOCAT), a constituent college of Silver Oak University, plays an important role in supporting this growing aviation ecosystem. SOCAT offers DGCA-approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) along with programs such as B.Tech in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, BBA Aviation, MBA Aviation, Cabin Crew, and Airport Management. We are capable of supplying well-trained and industry-ready manpower to meet the current and future needs of the aviation industry.

With the rise of new flying clubs, MROs (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul organizations), and airlines placing large orders for new aircraft to meet increasing passenger demand, there are plenty of job opportunities across various aviation departments. apart from airlines students who have done aeronautical ,aerospace or any aviation course they can get the job or training in the company.

Silver Oak University is also set to launch its own flying club, Silver Oak Flying Club Pvt. Ltd., at Mehsana Airfield, to provide pilot training to students. This initiative will further enhance regional connectivity, especially for tourism, pilgrimage, business travel, agriculture, and training purposes.

In addition, Silver Oak University is actively involved in DGCA-approved drone pilot training as well as drone manufacturing. After completing these courses, students can explore career opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, surveillance, cinematography, drone manufacturing, maintenance, and data analysis.

Adani Defence and DRDO have developed a mobile system that can detect, track and neutralize enemy drones using radar, jammers and laser weapons, helping India better protect itself from aerial threats.

Training & Placement

Students of SOCAT gain valuable hands-on experience by working on Airbus aircraft at Indamer Technique Pvt. Ltd., which helps them build strong field exposure and industry confidence. Indamer has huge set-up to maintain white body aircraft and students who are pursuing aerospace, aeronautical & aircraft maintenance engineering can do the training and get the job over there.

On a broader scale, Adani Group is expanding its aviation business with plans that include new terminals, additional taxiways and a new runway at the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. Airlines like IndiGo and Air India are also focusing on fleet expansion and increasing route coverage. Star Air has already expanded its fleet and network and is performing well under the UDAN scheme.

After completing aviation courses from SOCAT or any reputed institute, students have strong opportunities to work with these well-established airlines and aviation organisation.
